Surgery and some exciting news!

Mike went under the knife on May 11th to fix his deviated septum. I was really nervous for him because we had heard from other people that this surgery was really painful and hard to recover from. But he did really well! Of course he had some pain and a little bit of swelling, but overall the results were great. He now still breaths through his mouth a little at night due to swelling, but it's already amazing how much better he can breathe. I don't have to worry about his breathing stopping in the middle of the night anymore!
As for the exciting news, we found out we're having a GIRL! We could not be more excited! That was an amazing day for us. Mike and I were joined by my mom, my grandma, and my mother in-law. My mom is so excited for this baby and she was hoping it was a girl. The ultrasound tech asked us if we had any guesses. I told her I was guessing it was a boy. Then Mike said he thought he could see his "package." The tech let us think it was a boy for a minute or two then she got a really good shot of the "package" which wasn't a package at all. Mike was looking at our little girls umbilical cord! :) It is so amazing and I wanted to sit and stare and our baby all day long. It really hit me that I was having a g
irl once I was in the car after the appointment. It made this pregnancy even more real to me. I couldn't help but cry with this huge smile on my face! :) It's really cool that my grandma's first grandchild (me) was a girl and now her first great is a girl too! We need more girls in our families and are so happy! It seemed like the day after we found out it was a she, she decided to make her presence known. My belly has popped out so much within the last week! I finally feel like I look pregnant. I have also felt her move several times and love every time she does! :) We are so blessed!
Not a very good picture, but you get the idea. :)
