Holy Cow Time Flies!!!

Wow, I'm not great at this blogger thing. The last time I blogged, it was NOVEMBER! So, needless to say some time has passed since my last post. Mike and I are doing great. Our Christmas was so fun! We had a great time with friends and loved ones. I quit my job in January and it was AWESOME! Avalon just wasn't the place for me. I really miss my co-workers and the girls, but others, I don't miss at all. So far I've just been a stay at home wife and I love it! I've applied for other jobs but nothing has came about yet. Mike is such a hard worker! He's been enjoying his job. He's been traveling quite a bit. He went to LA a few weeks ago. He was at the airport and ended up seeing a couple of celebrities from the Sun Dance Film Festival. He saw Alan Thicke (dad from Growing Pains) and "Lex Luther" (I don't know his real name). He actually had a chance to chat with "Lex" for a bit. He said he was a really cool guy. He said he hardly recognized him with his red Mohawk instead of his bald dome. He got home from LA, then had the weekend off then flew to Seattle for a week. He will be going to Portland in a couple weeks and then Topica Kansas for 2 weeks. We're trying to see if we can work it out that I get to come along on that one. We're still kind of in Limbo when it comes to the final work plan. We're hoping after the month of March Mike's job will know what they're doing with us, but who knows. Mike and I had our 4th wedding anniversary on February 1st. Unfortunately Mike was out of town on that day, but we celebrated before. We're pretty laid back when it comes to Anniversaries and Valentines these days. We both just love to be able to go on a date. That's all we need. :) It's so great to continue to learn and grow together and our relationship just keeps getting better! I'm going to really try to keep up a lot better on my blog, that includes taking pictures.

4 months is soon.... right?

Ok, so I have to say I got really sick of blogging as you can see from the 4 month gap!! So, I figured I would write a little update.

Mike and I are doing great! He is still working at Biomat and liking it a lot. I think that the "new job" euphoria is wearing off and it feels a little more like work now. We still don't have any idea if, when, and where we are going to end up. We're both quite anxious to find out so we can somewhat plan the rest of our lives! :) One thing we did find out is that I didn't get accepted to the RN program, again. :( I'm okay with it though, because it's at least one worry out of our minds. After I told Mike I didn't get in, he said, "well, I guess that means we're moving." We would both love to be able to stay in the valley, but we will go where we're supposed to go.I still work at Avalon. That's been an interesting experience and I've actually learned more than I thought I would. Unfortunately it's been about working with a female manager instead of about nursing :)

Updates

Hello,

So I obviously haven't post anything about us since Easter! I guess I kind of feel like our lives are a little boring, so I don't have much to post about. Mike and I are doing really well. Mike has been learning a lot at his new job. He is really enjoying it as well. He had the opportunity to go to Seattle for a class about leadership. He flew out on a Wednesday afternoon, and flew home on Thursday night. He started being a phlebotomist a couple of weeks ago and seems to be doing really well at it. He came home from work one day with a red spot on his scrub top. I thought it was blood and got kind of grossed out, then he told me it was ketchup. : ) I'm really surprised at how well he is handling the blood and all. This is a guy who almost passed out from the site of his own blood! I've just been working as well. I really hope that I can improve on my nursing skills with this job because sometimes I feel like I'm not even a nurse at all! So all in all life is good! We are extremely blessed to have each other, our wonderful families, and so much more!

Happy Easter!

So this Easter turned out to be kind of a bummer for some of us. We went over to my parents house at about 10 on Easter morning and when we got there the front door was still locked. So we rang the door bell and waited. And waited. Finally my dad opened the door for us. When he opened it, we found out why it took so long for him to get there. Earlier that morning he went into the garage and slipped on one of the stairs, landing all of his weight on his right knee (which just so happens to be his bad knee already.) He felt a pop and then it hurt like crazy. So as the day went on, his knee started to get bigger and bigger and began to hurt worse. Of course he wouldn't let us take him to the ER or anything that day, so he just hobbled around. On Monday he went to the orthopedist and had X-rays done. Turns out he tore his meniscus and will most likely need surgery. Poor guy! He and the month of April just don't get along. Last April was when he crashed on his mountain bike and broke his collar bone and collapsed his lung. We decided that next April he's living in a bubble! But other than that it was a good weekend. We watched conference, ate yummy food and then I had to worked Sunday night. Sorry again that I have no pictures.

Fun with the Haynes!

Hey Everybody,

So I know it's been a long time since I've blogged. Sorry about that! I'll do better. So Mike and I have been pretty good. Mike's been searching for a job for a long time now, and after that long search, we've been blessed with the opportunity for Mike to work at PCCI! He went through a long interview process, and now he'll start his new job next week! We've been so blessed. As for me, I've just been finishing school up for this semester. I applied for the RN program. I'll find out in May if I made it in. For now though it's just Pathophysiology and Chemistry 1110.

This week Rachel and the boys came to visit from Montana. We've had such a good time playing with Jaxon! And Bridger is just a doll.

We are so excited for spring, and what the future holds for us!!! ; ) I will try to be better at updating our blog!

Valentines Day

So we had an Awesome Valentines Day! We actually celebrated partially on Saturday. We had a yummy dinner at Olive Garden. Then on Sunday, I made Mike Breakfast in bed. I decorated the tray with paper hearts and flower petals. ( Sorry I am horrible about getting my camera out and taking pictures!) I tried to get up discretely and make it so he didn't know what was going on, but it's kinda hard to fry sausage without making a lot of noise. He was a good sport though and stayed upstairs the whole time. : ) He kind of felt bad because he bought me a Valentines present on E bay and it didn't show up till the 18th. But I don't care about that at all. My present is having my wonderful husband in my life, and I am so grateful for that. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for this wonderful gift of marriage to such an amazing man! : ) HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
